Happy Lyme Awareness Month!
It's been awhile since I've posted on this blog. I've been super busy with our support group and helping with the Kansas Lyme Fighters. Our support group just held a screening of "Under Our Skin" in our city. It was a pretty good turnout, about 60 people!
On June 16th, The Kansas Lyme Fighters (now officially called the Kansas Tick-borne Disease Advocates) are having their Annual 5K Race/ 1 Mile Walk. This is to help raise money for families in Kansas suffering from tick-borne illnesses. Although it's a labor of love, it is a lot of fun and I hope there is a good turn-out this year!
If you would like to register or donate to the event, the link is:
If registering, you have to create an account, and then it walks you through step by step. Very simple.
If you are just donating, you can enter as a guest and donate to a particular person, team, or the event as a whole.
I created a fundraising page for my team, "Team Mommalyme"! I've raised $395 so far and hoping to get to a $1000. You can visit my fundraising page here:
If you donate to my team, and you have lyme disease, I will write your name on my t-shirt on the day of the event. Then I will take a picture and post it after the event so you can see. :) Just donate $5 or more, and your name will be on my t-shirt! When donating, it will give you a chance to 'write a message', be sure and let me know you're a lyme patient donator!
Sending my love to all my lyme peeps!
